NuWave Technologies is currently supporting one major release line with five minor release lines: 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 & 2.4. When an issue is corrected or a periodic update is made in a release line, a patch is released with a patch version number, for example, 2.1.1, 2.2.1. Prior to minor version 2.1, an alphanumeric "SPx" patch designation (2.0.SP1, 2.0.SP2) was used.
NuWave typically issues quarterly updates to the latest minor release line, which may contain problem corrections and new features. When a high impact issue is discovered in any release line we will immediately issue a patch to that line and other lines if applicable.
Determining the problems corrected and new features that are included when upgrading to a new release is a two step process.
| ▪ | If your current release contains fixes that you must have (which is usually the case), you must upgrade to a version with the same or greater minor release number and is chronologically newer than your current release. For example, if your current release is 2.2.5, you can safely upgrade to version 2.3.4 or greater, or version 2.4.0 or greater. You could not upgrade to version 2.3.0 - 2.3.3 because they were released prior to release 2.2.5. The table below can be used to help determine the appropriate release to upgrade to. First locate your current release in the table. The release you are upgrading to must appear in a row lower than your current release, and in the current column, or a column to the right of your current release. |
| ▪ | The release you choose to upgrade to will contain all fixes and enhancements that have been made since the current release version, up to and including the release you are upgrading to. For example, if you upgrade from 2.2.5 to 2.4.2, you will receive all fixes and enhancements made from version 2.2.5 to 2.4.2.
